It’s a helles lager denoting the pale golden colour which often produces a light body but our decoction mash process ensures full refreshment without compromising on the drinking experience. Feierabendbier (pronounced Fire-arben-beer), that’s German for ‘I’m knocking off work’ is our collaberation with The Modernist. This lager is traditionally brewed in communal breweries in the Oberpflaz area of north east Bavaria: a “Zoigl” beer. It’s an easy drinking 4.4% kellerbier; bright amber with a slight honey base, balanced with bags of hersbrucker hops bitterness and delivering slightly fruity and spiced notes.
Bocks are strong, mostly dark beers and slightly sweet from the malt sugars. Despite the robust flavours and strength, most Bocks (like this one) are bottom-fermenting Lagers. They are fermented over a long time, and then aged in cold temperatures. This lengthy phase of lagering mellows the taste and smooths the intense flavours, creating a smooth, well-balanced 6% beer.
